I spent a few years in Denmark in the ’60s and don’t remember it like this at all. But is satisfaction with your life such a bad thing then!!! Pity more people don’t experience it.

A good post Peter Andreas. You’re back on form. A state church is discrimination. Who cares about Broe? The Iraqis clearly picked the wrong shelter — try Sweden, they have a conscience. We must get rid of that religious stamp. And while we’re at it let’s make a republic.

But no. We Danes are really on the wrong track in so many areas these days. Sigh.

im somewhat against religious symbols in the public space, and dislike the fact that if i travel my passport tells im christian, when infact im atheist. other than that i just hope people know that your blog is very one sided, and personal opinions rather than facts about Denmark

Now, it has been revealed that the extradition case against Camilla Broe became a fact after a couple of meetings in Copenhagen between Lene Espersen, Reimann and some DEA agents.

At those meetings they decided on 10 charges she should face. Then the DEA agents went back to the US and released all the other smugglers in exchange for testimonies to back these charges up. Check the release dates for the rest of the gang. They were all released just after the meetings regardless of the fact that they had a lot of years to serve.

I am one of the Danes who believes in her innocense. It smells like conspiracy done by the authorities in two countries.

You know, I was equally struck by the irony of Danes’ reactions to the drug smuggler’s case and their rather less compassionate response to forcible repatriation of refugees.
